Who said you can’t have your doughnuts and eat them too? Ardmore Tea Room (6499 Quinpool Road) brings the Doughnut Burger to #HfxBurgerWeek. With a maple sausage patty, fried egg, American cheese, tomato, and spicy mayo sandwiched between a doughnut bun – you can’t go wrong for only $6!

2. When else can you have a burger on a black bun?

Unless you want to travel to Burger King in Japan this Halloween, you may never have another chance to see a burger on a black bun. Baton Rouge (1877 Hollis Street) has become popular this #HfxBurgerWeek for their Black Tie Burger. $2 of all Black Tie Burgers sold is being donated to Feed Nova Scotia.

3. You can win free beer for a year

Hop City’s Barking Squirrel has partnered with #HfxBurgerWeek and is offering one lucky winner the chance to win free beer for a year. All you have to do is participate and get your Burger Week passport stamped at 3 or more official locations during Burger Week. Your passport can be dropped off at any of the official Burger Week locations or at The Coast (2309 Maynard Street, Halifax). *You must be 19 years of age or older to win.

4. The #BurgerSquirrel

The #BurgerSquirrel is the official mascot for this year’s #HfxBurgerWeek! He is so happy to be apart of this weeklong event that he’s giving out free burgers to some of his biggest fans! Find him on the street, as for a selfie and the next free burg could be yours!

5. You are helping Feed Nova Scotia with your burger eating!

29 restaurants participating in #HfxBurgerWeek are donating a portion of each burger sale to Feed Nova Scotia.  Feed Nova Scotia helps feed hungry people at more than 150 different food banks. #HfxBurgerWeek has raised over $70,000 for Free Nova Scotia in the past four years. And hey, you might meet their mascot, #SammyTheHammy!

6. $6 burgers? Yes please!

Additional restaurants participating in #HfxBurgerWeek are offering burgers for $6 during Burger Week only. It’s cheap, it’s delicious, and there are more than 45 specially priced burgers to choose from!

7. 79 restaurant locations 

#HfxBurgerWeek has taken over 79 restaurant locations across HRM. From Bedford to Dartmouth to downtown Halifax there are so many burgers and restaurants to try, you should be able to fill up your passport in no time.

8. Weird and wonderful burger combos!

Ever put ketchup on your burger? How about mustard? Those are tame compared to the pickled pears at Lot Six (1685 Argyle Street), or the peanut butter at Darrell’s (5576 Fenwick Street), or the chips that top the Burger at Relish! Burger Week is a great way to experiment with something new or re-try and old favourite!

9. Count the bacon burgers

With at least a dozen burgers incorporating bacon in between their buns, bacon lovers across the board should be satisfied. From bacon jam to bacon patties to bacon strips, no pork-lover will be left disappointed.
